Man remanded for selling fake penis enlargement capsules

The Benin Division of the Federal High Court, on Tuesday ordered the remand in prison custody of one Okeke Ifeanyichukwu for allegedly selling fake, expired and banned drugs. 




The National Food, Drug Administration and Control’s prosecutor, Barrister Bartholomew Simon, listed the fake, banned drugs found in the possession of the suspect to include Lisinopril 10mg (Antihypertensive) tables, Penis Enlargement capsules, Tegretol 200mg tables, Salbutamol 2mg tables, Felxican 20mg capsules (piroxicam capsules), and Admdol 100mg(Tramadol)Gelules B. PIUS. ‎

Others are Nemel Nemeclox, (Ampicillin and Cloxacllin) capsules, Buscom 10mg (Antis Pasmodic) tables, Tradmadol 200mg tablets and Atenolol 50mg film coated (Anit hypertensive) tables.
The NAFDAC prosecutor said the offence, which was committed on March 11, 2016, at 32, Warake Road Auchinleck, contravened counterfeit and fake drugs and unwholesome processed foods (miscellaneous provisions) Act C 34 London 2004 and punishable under Section 3(1) (a) of the same Act. 

The accused however pleaded not guilty to the eight count-charge of possession and sales of fake expired and banned drugs. 

The presiding judge, Justice Olayinka Tokode, however dismissed the oral bail application by the defense counsel, Razak Etselalumhe 

Tokode who adjourned the case to June 1 for hearing, directed the defence counsel to file a formal bail application, adding that as soon has the application is filed a date would be fixed for the hearing of the application.
