Kennedy Boboye elated after NFF appoint him as Super Eagles coach for Intl friendly

Abia Warriors coach Kennedy Boboye has said he feels honoured to work as assistant coach of the Super Eagles.
On Wednesday,  the Nigeria Football Federation announced Salisu Tush as the new temporary head coach of the Super Eagles to be assisted by Imama Amapakabo and Kennedy Boboye , and the three coaches will take charge of the Super Eagles’ international friendly matches against Mali and Luxembourg.
Boboye feels his appointment is as a result of his hardwork in the Nigerian Football league especially with Abia Warriors and says he will ensure the Super Eagles play attractive football.
“I feel honoured getting a chance to handle the Super Eagles – to be honest, it is a dream come true,” Boboye told Goal.
“This is a reward for my hardwork in the Nigeria Professional Football League and we pray for victory and the wherewithal to change the face of Nigerian football.
“With my coming on board with Imama [Amapakabo] and Salisu [Yusuf], we will ensure things work out and play attractive football.
“Our brand of football has to be offensive and also take the chances that come our way. We have been conceding goals in our recent international matches and that is not good for us too.
“We're going to work hard to be the best we can - that will make Nigerians happy and send a message that our appointment is not a fluke,” he concluded.

White coach apologizes to Nigerian striker Blessing Eleke after racially abusing him as “a black idiot”

Marko Nikolac, the head coach of Slovenian league leaders Olimpija, has apologized to Nigerian striker Blessing Eleke for fear of losing his job after he racially abused him, calling him “a black idiot”. Blessing was called a 'black idiot' by his own coach in Slovenia for wildly celebrating an equalizer.
Marko Nikolac said his remarks about Eleke were not racist as he only wanted his team to conserve time and try to score a winning goal as they aim to reach the championship playoffs, so he was very angry when he saw Eleke 'over celebrating' after the Nigerian scored a leveler for Olimpija on Sunday.
“I wish to apologise to the to everyone - the President, the Sports Director, Blessing Eleke and finally all fans of Olimpija for an inadvertent remark, which when heard again on television later sounded very distasteful and worthy of condemnation,” said the young coach.
“My only wish was that after the equaliser on 92 minutes, we should try to get the winning goal. My target is to reach the national championship playoffs and go on to win the championship. I would like to thank all the team for understanding that my remarks were not meant to be racist."
The club president Milan Mandaric said;
“The remarks of our coach were not racially motivated. He just wanted to win the game,” he defended. We are all focused on qualifying for the championship playoffs and going on to win the league.”
LIVE: Manchester City 0 – 0 PSG; Real Madrid vs Wolfsburg

LIVE: Manchester City 0 – 0 PSG; Real Madrid vs Wolfsburg

It is the second leg of both games as Manchester City hope to make history getting into the semi-final of the Champions League for the first time.

A goal less draw is what Manuel Pellegrini’s men need to proceed to the semis, as the first leg ended Manchester City 2 – 2 PSG. However, they need to be wary of Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is capable of spoiling the party. In the other game of the night, Real Madrid face a herculean task at home to Wolfsburg, having lost the first leg 2 – 0 in Germany. Zinedine Zidane’s men must score atleast two goals to force the game into extra time.

– A win for Manchester City tonight will send them to the semi-final

 – Laurent Blanc believes Ibrahimovic will spoil the show for the Premier League team

It will be a historical night for Manchester City if they manage to beat Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium and advance to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

City have a spectacular advantage over the French champions with two crucial away goals after the first leg ended 2 – 2.

Outgoing coach Manuel Pellegrini has already won silverware this season, and while the Capital One Cup is a respected trophy, winning the club’s first ever Champions League would be monumental.

Recall that PSG knocked out Chelsea on their way to the quarter-finals, but they faced a sterner test against City, who managed to grab two away goals at Parc des Princes. With the first leg ending 2 – 2 a goalless draw, a 0 – 0 scoreline at the Etihad is enough to send the English Premier League team to the semi- finals.

However, PSG boss Laurent Blanc has backed striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to fire the French champions to the semi-finals tonight.

The 34-tear-old Swedish striker who has scored has 41 goals from 44 games this season was not so spectacular in the first leg having crashed a spot kick to the crossbar,  though he did score a first-half equaliser in the 2-2 draw.
